Porter Family Center for Innovation & Academics
Inspiring Creativity, Collaboration, and Innovation
This exceptional 70,000+ square foot facility will offer transformative spaces for Highlanders to learn, collaborate, problem-solve, and create. The new Porter Family Center for Innovation & Academics will replace Hale and Johnson Halls, outdated structures built in the 1950’s which no longer match the excellence of our students or faculty.
The project is a bold statement for innovation at Lake Highland. The second-floor Innovation Institute features a distinctive, central makerspace surrounded by interdisciplinary labs serving Robotics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, and other STEM programs.
The ground floor will feature the Tillman Family Student Center, the College and Career Center, and Administrative Offices. Math and English classrooms will occupy the third and fourth floors, facilitating interdisciplinary creativity and collaborative projects.
