Advanced Composition readies students for the high-stakes academic writing challenges they will soon face no matter where their courses of study take them. Students learn how to develop unique insights into a topic, to accept a writer’s responsibility for the reader’s experience, and to grow an expressive personal style. Our essays connect students’ interests to big, challenging ideas from the worlds of psychology, literature, language, science, and history. In addition, students sharpen their understanding of documentation styles with a focus on MLA. The course fee includes texts and field trips. | 8:00 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.
