Highlander Summer is excited to welcome all our Lake Highland students and community friends back on campus for a much-needed fun summer full of friends, laughter, and smiles
starting June 29th! All in-person camps will follow CDC guidelines and therefore modified from their original programming. Two of the most noticeable modifications are camp size and half-day programs. In limiting the number of campers allowed in each camp, we have decided to repeat most camps twice a day (morning and afternoon), allowing more students to participate. Under CDC guidelines, it is highly advised that campers do not mix between groups and therefore, campers will only be able to participate in one program a week. They will not be able to jump from a morning half-day camp to an afternoon half-day camp. Highlander Summer will not be offering morning and afternoon Extended Day services or cafeteria services this summer.
Registration is currently open for all June Virtual Enrichment Programs and Academic Courses. Beginning June 17th at 12:00 p.m., the following July programs will be available for registration:
Upper School (grades 9-12): Virtual Courses for Credit and non-Credit
Middle School (grades 7-8): Virtual Enrichment Programs and in-person Sports and Specialty camps
Lower School (grades PK-6): Virtual Enrichment Programs, in-person Sports and Specialty camps, and in-person Academic Enrichment classes
Highlander Summer has provided links to two very important documents regarding the and CDC guidelines we will be following. First is the LHPS Return to School Health Policy and second is the Highlander Summer COVID-19 Guidelines, set forth by our health and safety task forces with the approval of several LHP physicians. It is very important that you open each document and read through the guidelines to determine if you are comfortable sending your child to an in-person camp at Highlander Summer before registration opens on Wednesday, June 17th. If you choose to register your children(ren), please print out a copy of each, sign them, and return it to your child’s camp teacher on their first day of camp. Only one of each form per family is needed.
All families with academy or summer credits and/or refunds will be issued a refund or transferred credit by the end of June, as we close out our fiscal year.
Highlander Summer appreciate everyone’s patience in the many changes that have taken place the last few months due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we can’t wait to see your child on-campus in July!
