Speech-Language & Occupational Therapies

Helping Highlanders meet their potential

As a leader in whole-child education, we understand the process of learning is dynamic – it’s different for every student. To support Highlanders beyond classroom instruction, LHP offers occupational and speech-language therapies for all grade levels, prekindergarten through 12th grade.

Our licensed speech-language pathologists work with students who experience communication difficulties that affect academic performance. Difficulties may include:

  • Auditory processing
  • Phonics
  • Phonemic awareness
  • Reading comprehension
  • Written expression
  • Executive functioning
  • Social language

Our licensed occupational therapists are also onsite to help students overcome challenges that may affect a student’s ability to participate in activities that occur in age-appropriate educational environments, such as:

  • Sensory processing
  • Fine-motor skills
  • Coordination
  • Executive functioning
  • Visual perception
  • Self-regulation

Our team of skilled therapists work closely with families and faculty members to develop an individual plan for each student. Speech-language and occupational therapies have resulted in Highlanders mastering skills, overcoming anxieties, functioning at a high-level in class and within peer groups, and gaining confidence in their abilities.
