Grandparents of Lake Highland Prep students are important, valued members of the LHPS family. They offer vast experiences and ideas, as well as their time, talents, and treasures, to enhance our school in countless ways.
Years ago, we began the Grandparents Club to enrich the lives of our students and their grandparents. Club members serve as ambassadors, volunteer for Veterans Day and Grandparents Day, read to Lower School classes, and help plan and execute our outreach to LHPS grandparents.
We welcome new Grandparent Club members year round. To join, please contact Susan Clayton in the Advancement Office at 407-206-1900 x3345 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Grandparent Spotlight – Nancy Jablonksi
Our family arrived at Lake Highland Prep in 1972 – to a much different campus than we have today. Apartments from Orlando Junior College were the classrooms for the Lower School. Our daughter, Sharon, graduated in 1980 with 37 students in her class. How LHPS has grown and changed! We came for the curriculum, the Christian values, and the quality of the education offered. The school was like a family, and we thought the enrollment would never surpass 1,000 students. Classmates became lifelong friends – for our children and us.
In 1994, the first of 10 grandchildren started at LHP; 8 have graduated, 2 will graduate in 2017, leaving our grandson Ben with 3 years to go. We have been very happy here and greatly satisfied with the education they have all received. They were all prepared for college and life: Samantha is working in Atlanta with a master’s degree in international finance. Lindsey is an RN working in the neonatal unit at Vanderbilt. Madison is graduating from FSU and heading to PA school. Lauren is at UAB on a full track and academic scholarship heading to PT school. Scott is at FSU. David and Chris are at UF. Rachel will play basketball at Rollins on a full athletic and academic scholarship. Nicole will study business and theater in college. We couldn’t be prouder.
Our entire family remains active at Lake Highland. Now as grandparents, we are here to assist and promote the goals of the school. We continue to meet new people and enjoy sharing our time and giving to advance this great school, its teachers, and staff. Please join us in the Grandparents Club. We are not fundraisers. We help with Grandparents Day and Veterans Day; and we read stories to the Pre-K classes. We have fun!
