Latin Students for the Win!

Each year, Lake Highland Latin students participate in the National Latin Exam. In 2022, over 100,000 students from all 50 States and the District of Columbia as well as over 20 foreign countries took part in exams ranging from introductory levels to Advanced Latin and Greek, Mythology, Poetry, and more.

From the Charles Clayton Campus, the following students are recognized by the American Classical League and the National Junior Classical League for their accomplishments on this year’s very challenging exams:

Introduction to Latin (LHPS: Latin MS Level)

  • RJ Ingram – Magna Cum Laude
  • Jude Wallen – Magna Cum Laude
  • Christopher Herbert – Cum Laude
  • Desmond Fitzgerald – Cum Laude

Beginning Latin – 1st Examination (LHPS: Latin 1 – has not taken the Beginning Exam prior)

  • Daniela Lensky – Cum Laude

The following are the breakdown of each award for the 2022 Exams (all exams are out of 40 points):

  • Introduction to Latin Exam
    • 38-40: gold medal, summa cum laude
    • 35-37: silver medal, maxima cum laude
    • 33-34: magna cum laude
    • 31-32: cum laude
  • Beginning Latin Exam – 1st Time
    • 36-40: gold medal, summa cum laude
    • 33-35: silver medal, maxima cum laude
    • 30-32: magna cum laude
    • 28-29: cum laude        

Congratulations to all Latin students for the endeavors during this year’s exam season. These were especially challenging examinations and each and every one of you put forth an exceptional effort!
