Lake Highland has created and continues to foster a program, culture, and inclusive community of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and families who respect and embrace various cultures, backgrounds, and identities within our community and our world. Our goal is to create ongoing opportunities for all Highlanders to experience the love, concern, and respect for each other which are integral parts of our mission.

Class of 2030
Cultivating Connections
Highlanders participate in vibrant and engaging cultural experiences throughout the year, including celebrations for Hispanic Heritage Month, Native American Heritage Month, Black History Month, and Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
Black Alumni Panel
Highlanders engage with a panel of alumni who have excelled in their careers or post-secondary education.
Chinese New Year
Middle School Chinese language learners and community members participate in the Chinese Spring Festival celebration, which includes a dragon parade and themed activities.
Diwali
Also called the “Festival of Lights,” Diwali is India's biggest and most important annual holiday. At the parent-led celebration, Highlanders learn about Southeast Asian culture music, traditional dance, food, and crafts.
Interfaith Iftar
Led by LHP parents, Highlanders come together and learn about Muslim culture and the significance of the month of Ramadan, which includes a celebratory meal to mark the end of Ramadan.
International Festival
This day-long celebration is the culmination of months of collaborative research on various countries and their traditions. Sixth-grade students dress in traditional cultural attire, participate in a parade of nations, and enjoy an international feast!
MLK, Jr.: Dedicated to Service Speaker Series
This annual event preceding Martin Luther King, Jr. Day features invited guests who speak about servant leadership to students and employees.
Student Clubs
Joining or starting a student club is another way Highlanders connect and find a strong sense of belonging amongst their peers. Students can choose from more than 90 clubs, including those related to heritage, sports, STEM, arts, service, and other interests.
