Lake Highland's varsity tennis program centers on honing specific skills and strokes while developing each player's character, leadership, and independent thinking. Teamwork, respect, and representation are the core values at this level. We aim for these values to carry over to decades of enjoyment while playing this wonderful game.

Success

Program

The boys varsity tennis program participates in Class 2A, Region 4, and District 7 of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and routinely plays in the best competitions around the state. The program advanced to the region finals in 2021 and had individual and doubles qualifiers in the state tournament. In 2022, the team earned a district championship and went to the region finals while having an individual and doubles qualifier for the state tournament.

Thomas Scott

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Thomas "Coach T" Scott has been the strength and conditioning coach at LHP for over 15 years. Previously, he was the head strength and conditioning coach at Rutgers University, where he trained 21 Olympic sports teams. He has trained athletes from high school to professional athletes from all over the world. Coach T has also been a professional strength coach for Washington Freedom, New York Power, Orlando Pride, and The Chicago Redstars.

Facilities

Lake Highland Athletic Complex (LHAC)
An integral component of our facilities, the LHAC, an outdoor, natural grass facility, provides our athletes with a first-class practice and game experience. The LHAC encompasses Frontline Field, O'Meara Family Softball Field, six regulation tennis courts, and an auxiliary sports field, which hosts practice sessions for the lacrosse and soccer teams. The LHAC is also the training location for our nationally-acclaimed archery team.

Highlander Strength & Conditioning Facility
Located inside Weng Family Gymnasium, our 3,700-square-foot Strength & Conditioning Facility at LHP is second to none. The facility features seven platforms for Olympic-style lifts, three squat rack platforms, free weights, assisted lift machines, a total body jungle, and a designated area for cardio machines. The Strength & Conditioning Facility is open weekdays from 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. for student-athletes with coach supervision.
