The Lake Highland’s Athletic Training program provides student-athletes with high-quality healthcare on campus, during practice, and in real-time during competitions. Highlander athletic trainers are trained healthcare professionals. Three full-time athletic trainers regularly collaborate with students’ physicians to optimize overall well-being and improve athletic performance following injuries, including:
- Examination and diagnosis of neuromusculoskeletal conditions and certain medical conditions
- On-site recognition, evaluation, and immediate treatment of injuries and illnesses
- Treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute, subacute, and chronic neuromusculoskeletal conditions
- Injury and illness prevention strategies
- Determining an athlete’s readiness to participate in sports
