In State-of-the-Art Athletic Facilities
Lake Highland’s athletic facilities were constructed to enhance the strength and character of every student-athlete. From all-purpose gymnasiums to professional, cutting-edge equipment, Highlanders receive the best resources to perform at their fullest potential.
Weng Family Gymnasium
A 1,100-seat multi-purpose facility, the Weng Family Gymnasium is home to the Highlander boys and girls Volleyball teams, boys and girls Basketball teams, and Wrestling team. The Weng Family Gymnasium also features boys and girls locker rooms, a 3,750-square-foot Strength & Conditioning weight room, the Gina Martin Training Room, Athletic Administration offices, and Physical Education offices. In 2019, two new scoreboards and one new video board were added to provide an exciting player and spectator experience.
Highlander Strength & Conditioning Facility
Located inside Weng Family Gymnasium, our 3,700-square-foot Strength & Conditioning Facility at Lake Highland is second to none. Equipped with seven platforms for Olympic style lifts, three squat rack platforms, free weights, assisted lift machines, a total body jungle, and a designated area for cardio machines, our Strength & Conditioning Facility is open weekdays from 6:30am - 6pm for student-athletes with coach supervision. Athletes, Highlander parents, and LHP employees can focus on their physical fitness here.
Gina Martin Training Room
Named for a beloved LHP athletic trainer who passed away in 2009, the Gina Martin Training Room is home to our three full-time athletic trainers. Located inside Weng Family Gymnasium, this 1,400-square-foot facility provides our student-athletes with on-site injury prevention, rehabilitation, and care. The Gina Martin Training Room is equipped with an electronic injury management sign-in system, cold tub, two E-Stim machines, a therapeutic ultrasound machine, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization tools, cupping tools, and NormaTec equipment for upper and lower extremities. In addition to on-site care, one LHP athletic trainer attends all games to serve our student-athletes in real-time on the field.
A 1,200-seat outdoor, open-air athletic field, the CNL Stadium is the home to the Highlander Football team, boys and girls Soccer teams, and boys and girls Lacrosse teams. This state-of the-art artificial turf field has sewn-in game lines and is equipped with a scoreboard and video board. The adjacent Yergey Snack shack offers supporters and visitors refreshments during games.
Holloway Track and Field
Located inside the CNL Stadium, Holloway Track and Field is an eight-lane, 400-meter synthetic track utilized by the Highlanders Track and Field team as well as Boys and Girls Cross Country programs. In addition to the track, Lake Highland’s field event equipment includes a sand pit for the long jump and triple jump, pole vault pit and mat, and high jump mat.
Meffe Family Field House
Dedicated and opened in 2013, the Meffe Family Field House is an integral component of Highlander athletics. Equipped with two full-size locker rooms, an Athletic Training facility, and storage rooms, the Meffe Family Field House provides top-notch hospitality and facilities to Highlanders and visiting teams.
Meffe Athletic Training Room
A satellite facility located inside of the Meffe Family Field House the Meffe Athletic Training Room provides on-site care during all football, soccer, lacrosse and track & field practices and competitions. The Meffe Athletic Training Room is equipped with a cold whirlpool, Ultrasound/Electronic Stimulation Machine, hydrocollator heat packs, two treatment tables and two taping tables.
Home to the Highlander Swim and Dive teams, our Aquatic Center features the official Water Polo pool from the 1996 Summer Olympics held in Atlanta, Georgia. This 22-lane, 25-yard pool regularly hosts the Florida High School Athletic Association District and Regional Championships. The Highlander pool also includes a 13-foot diving well used for competition and an adjacent three-foot, 25-yard pool utilized for swim lessons and Physical Education classes. The Center’s duPont Family Scoreboard features state-of-the art Daktonics technology, including timing systems, animation, video, instant replay and other capabilities.
Heathrow Country Club
Equipped with two 18-hole courses, Heathrow Country Club is home to the LHP girls golf program. Designers Ron Garl and Tom Fazio created courses that meet the skill level of any golfer. Heathrow Country Club has hosted nine U.S. Open Qualifiers and has complete clubhouse services, a pro shop, driving area and a chipping green.
Shingle Creek Golf Club
This 18-hole, par-72, 7,200-yard course is home to the Highlander boys golf program. Designed by Arnold Palmer, Shingle Creek Golf Club is a host course for the U.S. Open Qualifiers. Shingle Creek Country Club has complete clubhouse services, a pro shop, driving area and a chipping green.
Lake Highland Athletic Complex (LHAC)
This outdoor natural grass facility encompasses Frontline Field, O’Meara Family Softball Field, six regulation tennis courts, an auxiliary sports field and is the training location for our nationally-acclaimed Archery team. The auxiliary sports field hosts practice sessions for boys and girls lacrosse as well as boys and girls soccer. An integral component of our facilities, the LHAC provides our athletes a first-class practice and game experience.
