Lake Highland Prep's Upper School inspires, engages, and prepares students to discover a passion in the classroom, on the stage, and on the field or court.
Students learn and achieve in dynamic classrooms where teachers encourage them to question, hypothesize, examine, write and speak effectively and persuasively, and collaborate. The Upper School curriculum offers a broad selection of courses in every discipline, including numerous honors and 28 Advanced Placement® (AP) courses. Each year, approximately 70% of our Upper School students take at least one AP course. The extensive opportunities Lake Highland's students enjoy – from our nationally ranked speech and debate team to our internationally acclaimed science research program to courses offered through the Global Online Academy – have established our reputation as the School of Opportunity.
These opportunities extend beyond the classroom. Upper School students have many leadership opportunities that complement their academic studies – through student government, clubs, Leadership Academy, and other avenues. We offer exciting opportunities for students to grow spiritually and emotionally, so they enter college and life equipped with a servant's heart, motivated by integrity and compassion. Last year, our Upper School students contributed more than 37,000 hours of community service. Expert and caring advisors include college counselors who help students identify and apply to the 'best fit' college for them.
Lake Highland Prep graduates are well prepared and successful in college, and they continue to excel as leaders in their careers, families, and communities.
