Cultivating Intellect & Character

The Charles Clayton Middle School Campus, located less than one mile from the Bradshaw Campus, is a distinctive and dedicated space for grades 7 and 8. Surrounded by supportive faculty and an environment conducive to deep learning, Middle School students explore their interests and expand their knowledge while further developing into courageous moral leaders.

Core Curriculum

Language Arts

Middle School language arts courses combine the study of classic and contemporary literature to prepare students to think independently and critically and to become adept readers and writers. This is achieved by focusing on the examination, analysis, and synthesis of written works across different genres to produce authentic responses.

Middle School math courses are designed to build a strong foundation for our students and foster a love for mathematics. Each course offers engaging, progressively challenging tasks that cater to diverse learning needs. Our Math Lab provides additional support, and advanced students can participate in competitive math events like MATHCOUNTS, AMC 8 & 10, and the Florida Math League to showcase their exceptional skills.

Social Studies

7th-grade civics focuses on the foundations of American democracy. In 8th grade, students build upon this knowledge through detailed study of American History from the Civil War to the present. The capstone of the students’ two-year study is an intensive project-based learning opportunity for National History Day.

World Languages

Students at the Middle School explore global cultures through an introduction to French, Latin (8th grade), Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. World languages classrooms use cooperative learning strategies to enhance teamwork and communication, creating a dynamic language-learning environment. Upon completion of an exploratory language course, students begin a comprehensive study of the World Language of their choice.
