Football - Varsity

Parent & Player Testimonials
  • "Looking back on my time in high school, I cannot think of anything that has been more influential than the lessons I learned as a Lake Highland football player. The ideals of teamwork, family, hard work, and dedication went beyond discussions in the locker room and manifested themselves under the hot summer sun with my brothers to the left and right of me. I am forever grateful for the lifelong mentors and sense of family that arose from our shared adversity and joyous feelings of victory. Lake Highland football was by far my favorite experience of high school, and I would encourage joining to anyone who is thinking of playing."

Jimmy Lomas, LHPS Class of 2018 | Wake Forest University | Class of 2022

  • "There is no other sport that challenges you as physically, mentally, and emotionally as football does. Anyone who wants to be a part of a family should join LHP football.”

Bryton Belvin | LHPS Class of 2018 | Defensive End at West Point, Class of 2022

  • “Playing football at Lake Highland was transformational for me. The experience created bonds throughout our team that are greater than friendships and that will last a lifetime.”

Brandon Nguyen | LHPS Class of 2018 | Kicker at Carnegie Mellon, Class of 2022

2020 TEAM THEME: TBD

The Highlander football program is focused on building the leaders of today while competing in classroom and on the field. We relentlessly pursue excellence on a daily basis and believe that the process is greater than the result.

Our young men are willing to work hard, whether through off-season workouts in January, preparing for exams in November, practices in August, or under the lights on Friday nights in the fall. Lake Highland Football is about excellence in all endeavors and building selfless, tough, and resilient student athletes who reject passivity, lead courageously under adverse conditions, and humbly serve others.

We believe in putting our brothers before ourselves---sacrificing personal comfort for the good of the team ---and pushing each other to compete beyond our perceived potential. This mind-set and attitude is rooted in our LHPS mission statement and enduring leadership principles. We love the sport, yet we truly believe it is a means to a greater purpose - developing strong leaders.
