We open applications for the following academic year on September 1 of the year prior. After that, families are welcome to apply before one of our admission deadlines listed here. Admission decision deadlines may also be found on the same web page.
There is a non-refundable $100.00 application fee to submit an application to Lake Highland.

Applicants to PreKindergarten through 4th Grades are required to take an “in-house” admission test at Lake Highland proctored by Lake Highland teachers here at the school. Please click here to view testing dates for the 2019-2020 school year. Applicants to Grades 5 through 12 are required to take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). To register for an upcoming ISEE, visit the ISEE website here.

Lake Highland does accept international students. Please see the International FAQs section for more information. Our Admission Specialist and Primary Designated School Official (PDSO), Forrest White, is also available to speak with you regarding international admission. You can contact Forrest at fwhite@lhps.org or (407) 206-1900 ext. 3324.

Lake Highland requires a completed admission file prior to making an admission decision. Generally, transcripts, teacher recommendations, and standardized testing results are a few of the requirements, though requirements will vary slightly depending on which grade level you are applying for. Please see the Admission Checklist for more detailed information about admission requirements.
For applicants to PreKindergarten through 5th Grades, we require one recommendation from the homeroom teacher. For applicants to Grades 6-12, we require three recommendations: one from the current English teacher; one from the current Mathematics teacher; and one from the current Principal or Guidance Counselor. The recommendation forms are sent out via email through the online SchoolAdmin portal, which parents gain access to following an application to the school.
Lake Highland does make use of a waitpool. The waitpool, as opposed to a wait list, is not a ranked list but consists of a group of accepted applicants who have similar, strong qualifications. The opportunity Lake Highland has to admit students from its waitpool changes from year to year.
Please see our Key Admission Dates page for admission testing dates for the 2020-2021 school year.
Lake Highland’s application process will conveniently allow you to track your application from beginning to end, including scheduling necessary appointments and submitting requested admission documents. If you have any questions, we are here to help every step of the way. Applications for the 2020-2021 school year will open September 1, 2019. Click here to apply!
We are still accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year. Please contact the Admission Office at (407) 206-1900 ext. 1.

Upper School applicants are required to complete an interview with the Admission Team as part of the admission process. We do our best to accommodate our out-of-state or international applicants by interviewing them on their tour date. However, for students that do not tour the school with their families or otherwise remain abroad or out-of-state, we are able to conduct interviews by phone. Interviews can be scheduled through the admission portal, following receipt of an application. Please contact Upper School Admission Specialist Forrest White at fwhite@lhps.org or at (407) 206-1900 ext. 3324 for further questions or concerns.
As part of the application process, we require the Florida health forms DH680 (proof of immunizations) and DH3040 (physical check-up). Students must have up-to-date physical and immunization forms on-file with the Clinic at all times.
Students must turn four (4) years old by September 1 of the year they enroll in our PreKindergarten program. In addition to meeting the admission requirements, PreKindergarten students must be toilet-trained.
Students must turn five (5) years old by September 1 of the year they enroll in our Kindergarten program.
