During this college planning meeting for ninth-grade parents, learn how you can help pave the way for your student’s in partnership with Lake Highland. Hear from LHPS’s expert school and college counselors and guest speaker Dr. Faye Felterman Tydlaska, Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing at Rollins College.

The Sophomore Experience: First Steps to Best Fit
March 5th at 2:00 p.m. in the Lake Front Room

Discover the resources available to help LHPS sophomores launch their college search. Information presented by the LHPS college counselors with an informal discussion and Q&A featuring Ms. Benet Bondi, Central Florida Regional Rep at the University of Alabama.


The College Forum for Junior Parents (Class of 2020)
November 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the HCCA

Gain valuable insight into the application process from a panel of college admission professionals visiting from a variety of distinguished universities and colleges. Open dialogue and questions are encouraged. Our expert panel for the evening includes:

Senior College Kick-Off
August 18th at 9:00 a.m. in the HCCA

Parents serve a critical role in completing the admission process and are strongly encourage to attend the meeting with their seniors. All seniors in the Class of 2020 are required to attend this important meeting to learn about the timelines and protocols for applying to colleges this fall.

Letting Go Gracefully: Helping Your Senior Transition to College
February 5th, 7:00 p.m. in the Calkins Library

It’s almost time for your child to go to college. This is an important – and often emotional – time in a family. Join us for a discussion to help ease the transition from high school senior to college freshman. Discover ways you can establish reasonable expectations as your children become adults and enter college. Hear about how you can embrace this new relationship with your son or daughter.

2019 Parent Brown Bag Lunch Series

Each spring, the College and Career Center hosts three lunch meetings for parents themed around trending topics in high schools and college. Please bring your lunch and join us for an informal discussion with experts on an array of hot topics. We will provide iced tea, soda, water, and cookies.
