It is with great pleasure that we invite you and your family to our annual Lower School Grandparents Day in the Harriett Coleman Center for the Arts (HCCA) on Friday, April 28, 2017! With recognitions, presentations, and music featuring LHPS performing arts groups, we will honor our grandparents and grandfriends. This year’s theme is Broadway – A Magical Grandparents Day Celebration. Click here for program highlights and schedule details.
Students, dressed in mandatory school uniforms, should arrive with their families at the designated times below. The festivities will begin as you take advantage of the opportunity to have a photo taken in the foyer with your family members. After our Celebration Assembly, families will then visit classrooms and meet the teachers. Also, refer to the schedule below and note that this plan allows families with more than one child to visit all of their children's homerooms and enrichment classes.
Since this is not a regular school day, there will be no classroom instruction or supervision for Lower School students. Regular classroom instruction and van transportation will be provided as usual for Middle School and Upper School students.
Please plan to attend based on your child’s last name:
Students whose last names begin with A - R attend 8:30 a.m. Celebration Assembly in HCCA.
Students whose last names begin with S - Z attend 11:00 a.m. Celebration Assembly in HCCA.
Students performing in the Celebration Assembly should report to their performing arts classroom at 8:00 a.m. Performers’ families are invited to attend either the 8:30 a.m. or the 11:00 a.m. assembly. Performers need to remain with their group until after the second performance. Please plan to pick them up shortly after 12:00 p.m. The choral, dramatic, and instrumental directors will send home specific details outlining pick-up place for all performers.
Additionally, grandparents of Middle and Upper School students are invited to our Middle and Upper School Grandparents celebration, Thursday, April 27th, from 8:30-11:15 a.m. on the main campus. Separate invitation will follow. Questions? Contact Corina Evans at 407-206-1900 x3341.
We look forward to the great days ahead!
