ADMISSION TESTING
We require admission testing for candidates at all grade levels:

PreKindergarten – 4th Grade
Beginning November 1, 2011 candidates may register online for testing.

- PreKindergarten candidates are individually screened for readiness. This process takes approximately 45 minutes.
- Kindergarten candidates will take an academic assessment and participate in a playgroup that simulates a classroom experience. This process takes approximately 2 hours.
- 1st – 4th grade candidates will take a national assessment that focuses on reading comprehension, language skills, writing, and math computation. This process takes approximately 2-3 hours.
- 5th grade candidates are required to take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE).
- Candidates for 6th – 12th grades are required to take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). Lake Highland offers an Early Decision opportunity for students applying to grades 6-12. Early Decision candidates are required to take the ISEE in November or December on any date and at any location.
ISEE test dates and registration information can be found at
. We encourage students to register early because test sites do fill up, sometimes in advance of the registration deadline. When registering, please request that scores be sent to Lake Highland Preparatory School, code 101294.
STUDENT INTERVIEWS
Student interviews are required for applicants to grades 9-12. Once an application is on file, please register online for your appointment.

TRANSCRIPTS & TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS
For all students applying to grades K-12, we require official transcripts, a copy of the first semester report card, and teacher recommendation forms. Grade-specific forms can be downloaded.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
All applicants must provide a birth certificate, current photo, copy of Social Security card, proof of immunizations and a current physical by a Florida physician. We require candidates for grades 6-12 to complete an applicant questionnaire.
The Admission Committee, composed of faculty and administrators, reviews all information gathered in the admission process and shares the admission decision with the applicant and parents. For those students who are qualified for admission, enrollment is dependent upon available space. A waiting pool is formed for candidates who have qualified for admission but no openings are available at their grade level.
7. Do you give preferential treatment to any applicant?
We do not give preferential treatment to any applicant. Every admission decision is predicated upon the question: Can this student be successful at Lake Highland? After answering that question affirmatively, we give careful consideration to siblings of existing students, children of faculty members, alumni and trustees, and students who were in our waiting pool the previous year.
