TRAFFIC BULLETIN
IMPORTANT *** PLEASE READ
Cooperation from all families in following these important guidelines and procedures will make the traffic flow more smoothly and quickly for everyone.
Place sign on the dashboard on the side closest to the traffic person calling the names.
- You must have a carpool sign to enter campus for pickup. The signs are color-coded to help the traffic personnel in identifying students. All students in a carpool are dropped off and picked up in the location assigned to the youngest student. (See below for detailed information on colors, locations, and lanes.) Pickup locations may vary depending on the pickup time.
- After loading, please turn over your carpool sign and leave it in the front window. This signals the traffic personnel that you have loaded and are ready to move.
- Drop off and pick up students only in designated locations at the Lower School. Do not drop off in thru lanes, parking lots, or off campus. Drop off and pick up may occur only when all vehicles are stopped.
- Do not arrive early for pickup. We use both the front and back of the Lower School for 2:50 and 3:15 pickups. Vehicles arriving for 3:15 pickup will not be allowed to enter the campus before 3:05. Until 3:15, the outside lane must be kept clear in front of the LS.
- Do not arrive early and park to drop off or pick up your child. Parking is limited and often needed for those attending meetings. Vehicles backing out of parking places during drop off and pick up delay the traffic flow.
- Middle School/Upper School students must arrive on time for pick up. Names of older students are not always called, so they need to pay attention. If you have a MS/US student in your carpool, you may want to arrive later to give time for the vans to arrive from MS and for the walk to LS. The traffic line cannot be held for a late MS/US student.
- Please do not stop teachers after school for unscheduled conversations. Most teachers have an assigned traffic duty and it is vital they be in position on time for the safety of the students.
- Please discuss with your child the importance of good behavior while waiting to be picked up and the importance of listening for names to be called.
- Cell phone use is absolutely forbidden for any reason during drop off and pick up. This is a vital safety issue and violators will be reported to Security and the Office of the President.
