Debate Team with Awards at the Winter Springs invitational on Sunday September 9th.
Announcements for the week of 10/13-10/17
CAPTAINS/DIRECTORS:
For Thursday's
Captains Meeting, I'd like to have a finalized roster for the Glenbrooks.
I need to finalize this trip and will need a signed list of participants.
If you know of anyone who has taken photos of Yale, Valley, or the Trinity CFL,
please send them to me so that I can post them on the website.
CAPTAINS/DIRECTORS:
Make sure you look over the Blue Key
Roster and make sure that there are no mistakes. All those who are on this
list have signed up and therefore disappointment wouldn't even describe my
reaction to any last minute surprises.
PARENTS:
Our next CFL is the 2nd
weekend in November. We will have a judge call. Note: the
tournament moved to Lake Mary Prep, which means that it is yet another
local-area tournament. Our roster is expected to be as large as the first,
so we will likely need about 12 judges. Also, look over the Blue Key
roster. If you are judging, you will need to make note of departure times,
hotels, etc.
*PARENTS, CAPTAINS, AND TEAM MEMBERS:
The Tournament Itineraries for The Bronx
Invitational, The October 11 CFL, and Blue Key are posted. If you are
competing or judging/chaperoning, make sure there are no mistakes. The
rosters are final unless I made a major error in either excluding or including
you. Minneapple
Invitational (November 6-9) and Glenbrooks (November 17-20) are forthcoming.
*PARENTS AND STUDENTS:
Due to the absurdly high cost of airfare and
charter buses, the costs of our tournaments have unfortunately increased.
Out-of-State tournaments will be $350.00, excepting Harvard which will be
$400.00. Crestian and Blue Key will be 250.00. In-State overnight
tournaments that require charter buses will be $175.00. *Charter Buses are
running an average of 1,000.00 more per trip this year. Airfare increases,
based on first three planned tournaments are between 70-100.00 per ticket more
than in previous years. Our travel fees have remained static since 2001
while inflation has not. Our budget cannot cover enough of the increases
without your help. I hope you understand and encourage you to plan
accordingly.
*PARENTS: If you
are planning to attend or help with the Lake Highland Prep judge training on
Saturday October 4th, please contact Georgia Perrotta
markup4@aol.com as
soon as you can.
*Parents and Students:
Team Rosters are now posted
on the Tournament Roster Page. You will need your login and password to
access both the tournament roster and itinerary.
winfp.lhps.org\name
and password
if you are trying to access this information away from LHP's campus.
*New
Rules: Both
the Tournament Itinerary and Team Roster Pages are password protected.
This was done to ensure that vital team information was not made available to
the public outside of school. You will be prompted to provide a username
and password. Each student at Lake Highland has been assigned a username
and password. Parents may either use their students, or ask technology at
Lake Highland to provide them one. It isn't the greatest system, but is
certainly better than allowing the general public all of our contact numbers
addresses, plane reservations, hotel rooms, etc. If you are confused, ask
someone to help you. All you have to remember is:
winfp.lhps.org\
(you must put winfp.lhps.org\ before your username in order for it to work) and then
provide a password. Students have set their own. For
Teachers/Coaches, these are the same ones that you use to navigate school
website material.

Weekly Meetings:
*Coaches:

*Captains and Directors:
Thursdays in J103 during FLING
*Any individual event
meetings will be scheduled as needed by the team directors.
