Dear Lake Highland Families,
It’s hard to believe that half the year has already gone by and we are headed into Winter Break! While we all anxiously welcomed in the New Year, it is incredible to look back at the events Lake Highland presented while we look forward to more exciting events in the future.
In November, Tammy Wacker, Mary Ann White, Clare Hudson and Janet Jablonski hosted the LHPA Tennis Round Robin. They “ace-d” the event with a sell-out crowd!! Also in November, we celebrated Veteran’s Day as only Lake Highland can – with a sense of pride and celebration! The entire event was overseen by volunteers Kim Pride and Linda Hardy, the Canteen was presented by Sarah Overmeyer and Medea Harris and the VIP Guest Luncheon was organized by Darcie Corbett.
We came back from Thanksgiving break and were greeted by a shopping extravaganza at the Book and Gift Fair. Justine Maciel and Kim Kephart organized more than a dozen different vendors and nearly 100 volunteers to create a shopping experience for both children and adults.
Erin Lawrence and Michelle Griglione set up a winter wonderland when they brought back the Festival of the Trees. Each Lower School classroom, as well as many of the clubs on campus rallied together to create unique themed trees which were auctioned to the highest bidder. It certainly put everyone in the holiday spirit and made decorating easy!
We were all happy to visit the Used Uniform Sale at the end of January to outfit our ever-growing children! Grace Bryden and Claudia Diaz put together an incredible sale, recycling uniforms and spirit day clothes for purchase. The sale was a huge success.
Looking ahead, we have another Tennis Round Robin on March 4th – be sure to sign up soon as the event sells out. Please email Mary Ann White at MWhite3043@aol.com to secure your spot!
LHPA will host another Spring Flower Sale this spring, just in time for Easter and Mother’s Day! Heidi Zerivitz will chair this event. Look for flyers coming soon to place your order. Pick up days will be April 13-14.
We are introducing a new event this year, thanks to Karen O’Neill-Arredondo and Kim Kephart ….. You will all be invited to a Breakfast at Tiffany’s on April 7th. Be on the look-out for e-vites and respond quickly, as space is limited to 130 people.
Laurie Hanson will pair up with Rosali Morris for Arts in April from April 26-29. Be sure to check out student artwork displayed all over campus.
The 6th Grade Celebration, co-chaired by Sejal Patel and Sabrina Sane, is sure to be a hit with all the 6th grade students before they leave the Lower School.
We’re looking forward to all of the events this spring and thank our Chairs in advance for all of their hard work!
Thank you,
Debbie Mintzer
LHPA President
