Welcome to the Lake Highland Band page.  

A little about the program...
The Lake Highland Band is comprised of students in 5th through 12th grade.  Our current class offerings include Beginning and Advanced Band (5th and 6th grade), Concert Band (Middle School), Symphonic Band (High School).  In addition to the performing ensembles Introduction to Music Theory, AP Music Theory and Introduction to Recording Studio are also offered.  Lake Highland is a member of the Florida Bandmaster's Association.  They participate in all of the events offered by this organization including:  Marching Festival, Concert Festival, Solo and Ensemble and All-State Band.

About the director...

Mr. Christopher Greening is in his 19th year of teaching and his 10th year at Lake Highland.  He earned his degree in Instrumental Music Education from Millikin University located in Decatur, IL. He came to Orlando in 1993 and began his teaching career with the Orange County School District as an interim elementary music teacher.  From their he taught at the middle school level for nine years. Mr. Greening is a trombonist and pianist.  He also leads worship at First United Methodist Church in downtown Orlando.

 Solo and Ensemble 2012

Solo and Ensemble takes place on February 10 and 11 at Apopka High School.  Each performance has a scheduled time.  You can find the schedule here.  Please arrive approximately 45 minutes prior to the performance time. Please dress for a successful performance.  No jeans, t-shirts or sneakers please.  If you have any problems, including running late, please send Mr. Greening a text ASAP.
