Junior Class Internship Experience
Each spring Lake Highland gives juniors three days to spend pursuing and developing interests in various career settings. The junior class internship experience allows students to choose a business or professional person to shadow for three days in order to learn more about that career path. This year the internship experience is scheduled for March 16-18. The majority of students find sites through parent, family and friend connections.
Students may determine an interest in a certain area and brainstorm what family connections they have in that area or may simply consider family friends and speak to a friend who has an interesting line of work. Other students simply approach businesses in which they have an interest and explain the internship program and ask for a placement.
