PHILOSOPHY

It is the goal of the Lower School Choral Department to nurture and enhance each student’s  understanding of music and musical expression.  Classroom objectives include developing vocal technique, breath control, diction, expression, note-reading skills, ear-training, music appreciation, performance skills and stage presence.

It is intended that each student develops academically, artistically, and socially as they develop life-long skills and a nurturing love for music. 

The students perform a variety of musical genres: classical, jazz, folk and popular.  The students perform both on and off-campus throughout the school year.
