The U.S. Olympic Committee chose Lake Highland’s Legacy 12 as the winners of the national 2008 Sport & Singing Contest. Gerry Williams, Cheryl Sims, Pamela Reynolds, and the singers of Legacy 12 were honored for their song entitled I Stand Amazed. As winners of this competition, the group will advance to the international competition, conducted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Winners of the international phase of the competition will be invited to perform their winning songs at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in August. Winners will be announced July 1.
Legacy 12 is a new group formed within the Academy Singers and is comprised of eight to 11-year-olds. |
