For those students who are qualified for admission, enrollment is dependent upon available space. A waiting pool is formed for candidates who have qualified for admission but no spots are available at their grade level.

Application Form
Applications are available on our website or through the mail, if requested. The application packet has a checklist of items to complete. Candidates initiate the application process by submitting the completed application and $90.00 application fee.

Pre-Kindergarten
Applicants must be 4 years old before September 1st.  Pre-Kindergarten candidates are individually screened. This process takes approximately thirty minutes. After submitting an application, please register online for the January screening. The Admission Office will confirm your appointment via email.

Kindergarten
To be accepted into the Kindergarten program, students must have attended an academic Pre-Kindergarten (4-year old) program and be 5 years old before September 1st.  Students will take an academic assessment and participate in a playgroup that simulates a classroom experience. Please register online for the January academic assessment, after submitting an application. The Admission Office will confirm your child’s appointment via email.  A Lake Highland summer school session is highly encouraged for all new Kindergarten students.

1st Grade
Applicants must be 6 years old before September 1st. First grade applicants are tested for admission in January. Students will take an academic assessment and participate in a playgroup that simulates a classroom experience. Please register online for the January academic assessment, after submitting an application.  The Admission Office will confirm your child’s appointment via email.  A Lake Highland summer school session is highly encouraged for all new First grade students.

2nd - 4th Grade
Candidates for grades 2-4 are tested in January.  After submitting an application, please register online for the January academic assessment.  The Admission Office will confirm your child’s appointment via email.  The academic assessment evaluates the child’s skills in reading comprehension, mathematical computation, writing and language.

5th Grade
Candidates for grade 5 are required to take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE).  

We encourage students to register early because test sites do fill up, sometimes in advance of the registration deadline. When registering, please request scores be sent to Lake Highland Preparatory School, code 101294.

Regular Decision 
Students applying for a Regular Admission Decision need to take the ISEE either in November, December or January (no later than January, 12, 2008).  We must receive all required documentation for Regular Decision candidates by January 7th, 2008.  Regular Decision letters will be mailed February 5, 2008.

Late Decision 
Students applying for a Late Admission Decision need to take the ISEE no later than March 1, 2008.  We must receive all required documentation for Late Decision candidates by February 22, 2008.  Late decision letters will be mailed March 14, 2008.

6th-12th Grade
Lake Highland Preparatory School requires students applying to grades 6-12 to take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE).  ISEE testing is scheduled November- April.

Transcripts & Teacher Recommendations
For all students applying to grades K-12, we require official transcripts, a copy of the first semester report card, and teacher recommendation forms.
